Planner Spreads to Inspire You for National Planner Day

Even planner fanatics may not know that National Planner Day is a holiday, but it’s celebrated annually on August 1st! Within the planning community, there’s a wide variety of spreads—while some prefer to use their planner for organization and habit tracking, others love to create beautiful spreads with intricate calligraphy or journaling prompts. There are endless possibilities for decorating and using your new planner!

Self-Care Journaling Spreads

Yes, I know it can seem a bit counterintuitive to plan your day off, but a lot of us on-the-grind girlies need a reminder that it’s mandatory to relax sometimes! This self-care spread by @annie_plans is a cute and functional planner idea for making sure your day off stays restful.

Mental health is important, but physical health can be accounted for in your journaling spread as well. This creator, @am.paper.and.art.co, decided to track a bit of both with recipes and coping mechanisms in a cute witchy spread decorated with moths, herbs, and mushrooms.

Here is another great example of a meal-planning spread created by @ashleyannlaz, with this one providing recipe plans on the left and a grocery list on the right. This one is great because it's very simple: all you need is a pen and a mildliner!

Catch-All Planner Spreads

Sometimes, it can be really difficult to commit to a specific style of planning. That’s why it’s always an option to create a spread encompassing everything you’d like – it also is one of the best planner spreads for beginners. Why? By trying out multiple types of planning styles at once you can really hone in on what you like to use on a daily basis and use those ideas for your future spreads!

I’m loving this delicate design from @ihaveplansforyou, especially because the adorable floral sticker designs really accentuate the relaxing colors on the page while keeping it relatively simplistic. It includes a mood tracker, to-do list, habit tracker, and really everything you’ll need to get your planning started.

Here's another one: a great example that has enough space for journaling, reminders, and even a 20-day habit tracker. Plus, it’s cute pastel colors are just so pleasing to my eyes. This is one of the most aesthetic sticky note sets for bullet journaling that I’ve seen. I love @the.cozydesk's journaling style, it definitely sparks joy and makes my brain happy!

 Cute Journaling Spreads

I’m a sucker for cute animal stickers in planners. The adorable dog and duck stickers @artbrinana chose for this spread, as well as all the little details in the washi tape and tiny stickers create just enough space to write without being overwhelmed.

Here's another awesome one by @cozypastels! This journaling spread is so insanely cute and I love the pop-ups, they add a lot of depth to these two pages.

If you’re a person that gets easily overwhelmed with the amount of space on your planner pages, then definitely consider creating something similar to this awesome spread by @kuroqnotes. It leaves just enough room for you to make notes about each day without being too much– and plenty of space to experiment with your stickers, washi tapes and other stationery supplies!

Useful Habit Tracking Spreads

This awesome peach juice spread by @ivanajournals can be adapted to pretty much any of your goals! With just a pen and some mildliners, it will be a very easy way for you to keep track of how many days a week you stayed on track. Create a few boxes for all of the habits you want to track and decorate with whatever cute illustrations or stickers you want! Once done, you can fill the box with whatever you’re interested in, whether it’s journaling, reading, vitamins, chores, exercise, or even content creation.

You’re not limited to notebooks to one design either. Remember that you have the option to get creative and make a box that is big enough for every date in the month. Here is an example of a spread by @maja_reka_bujo, who made a similar tracker except with a tarot card design. I love their illustrations and coloring!

If you’re interested in the “bigger picture”, there are also a ton of creators making some awesome year-long trackers for everything from mood to books bought and movies watched.

@seannakaewilder bought the #ShatterMe series on Amazon and really enjoyed the first booked! Now that I have the whole series, I had to add a new page to my 2023 Reading Journal. What should I put on the front?? #read #bookstagram #reading #readingjournal #bookreview #booktok #junkjournal #scrapbooking #scrapbook #journal #bulletjournal #bulletjournalspreads #bulletjournalideas ♬ original sound - Seanna Kae Wilder
This simple spread by @mom.of.two.plans has a very minimalistic design and tracks everything from sleep hours and chores to coffee and medication consumption. Throw in a mood tracker and you’ll be able to get a better look at how you’re doing each month.

You can even take note of your coffee-drinking habits by creating something similar to @rarejournals' spread. I definitely don’t need any excuses to drink more coffee, but this creator is definitely tempting me to go get an iced latte and start my own tracker!

Junk Journaling

I LOVE a junk journal. It really hits that hunter-gatherer part of my brain and I love using it as a method to consolidate the receipts and little moments in my life to remind myself of fun things I've done in the past. @livebrave2 used some mail they collected to create a very eye-catching and unique design.
